Plastic locks on medical emergency trolley

It's more a tamper proof seal than a lock, even though it's shaped like a lock. I didn't feel like asking for one to play with, the nurse was very busy...

Do I see it right: one of the shackles is really thin and easy to break isn't it?
Did you have good look of it? It seems really easily shimmable . Did they have a code number on them at least?
I don't want to give out ideas, but you should even find the tools to shim it on the trolley ... lol.
Anyway still better than nothing, but the system here is that they keep the emergency trolleys at the nurse's desks where it is under constant supervision. I think that's better than locks are. Still locks and supervision together is probably the best, they should have them here too.

Looks like it is there, more for a this cart is 100% stocked, not tampered with and ready to go, when the lock gets taken off it breaks and then they know that they have take it off the floor and restock it. Plus it keeps the honest people out. That is neat though that they would shape it like a lock.

You're right ARF-GEF, it would be very easy to shim, and there's no serial number on it. The right side of the shackle is so thin that can be easily broken, so you just grab it with two fingers and pull it away. As Darkness1569 suggested, it's a "warranty seal". I like its shape too, that's why I took the picture.

I worked in healthcare for years. These seals are only to verify that the "crash cart" is fully stocked and ready for use. In an emergency, nurses and doctors break the seals by hand and use whatever they need. After the emergency is over, the cart is sent to the central supply department to be inventoried, re-stocked, batteries charged, sterilized, and is returned to service with new seals.
