Novice Question Schlage Keyless Entry Best Key

Postby uscarry45 » 24 Feb 2013 10:41

First off I am not a locksmith, so hopefully I don't make a fool of myself. I just purchased a new home that has an out building that has a schlage keyless lever lock on the door. I would like to key it to a BEST A keyway so that I could use the same key for my business in this lock should the battery fail, or I forget the code etc. Is this possible? Where can I buy the core from? Thanks

It would help if you post pictures. That said, Schlage IC format is different than Best IC format. They are retained in different ways. Yes, Schlage makes handle sets for other formats, hence the request for pictures.

I have never seen a Best "A" in anything other than SFIC.
Schlage, to my knowledge, does not produce an E575 with an ICC prep.
You may need to go another route.

The Schlage Cobra is an electric push button entry lever lock.
It comes standard with SFIC prep over-ride in the bottom of the lock.
More money than the FE575, but it will do what you need.

There are loads of keyless entry locks that can be ordered to take a SFIC, but in that case why not get rid of the keyless option and just use a SFIC lock?
