Pro Auto Tension Tool - RL-10D

Hello everyone and thank you for reading,
Some of you might know that I am exploring deeper into the world of Automotive Locksmithing, The risks are greater because you can break a window, scratch or dent the car, you could even fry the computer if you screw up. I rely on good ole lockpicking, more often than not lockpicking will work. The problem with picking a car is this, Tension, How the heck do you get your wrench in there with even torque. Well Lockpickshop.com sells the RL-10D Automotive Tension Tool This thing, I havn't even had it for a day and I think its the best tool to have for auto entry.

The tool has grooves on the tines at different spots in different widths to ensure no matter what car you are up against you will always have the right tool. I know this first hand, I walked through the auto yard and tried it in a bunch of keyways. It has a solid grip in the locks so you can put it in and let go. Speaking of grip the tool is rather large. Its huge in fact, The handle though is made like a normal lockpick is very long. It also has two pieces of thick spring steel sandwiched in between making for a very solid handle. The weight is something to behold as well. Though being metal and heavy the weight is actually very comfortable.

All in all I am very happy about this tool and the vehicles I picked were hardly a problem with this tool... and a double ball pick. It tackles so may locks with and without shrouds. I highly encourage you to buy one if you are an autosmith.

I've got a very similar tool by... KLOM I believe. I've always had trouble with the tension piece being inserted in the lock as it is to thick. Heck I've even though about shaving off a bit of the tip so it could be inserted into the lock... Are they best just used for Imports?

I dont have an issue with it being too big at all. Most of the time its got enough room to wiggle.

What kind of vehicle locks do you use it with, Indigo?

I mostly encounter the Big 3 here in Texas. But there are also a lot of euro cars here. I dont know if it would work on tibbe keyways or not but that should be discussed in the advanced section.

I purchased the HPC version of this tool.
Occasionally I run into a keyway that is too large or worn out
for my biggest tension wrench and this tool takes care of that problem.
If you need to pick open auto locks.....get this tool, you won't regret it.
