Anybody out there got any tips on the double sided camlocks, short of using master keys?
Tension tool always slips halfway through picking - anybody made their own tension tools? double side picks don't fit and if the lock is mastered there's the step in the wafers.
Tried everything short of impressioning - which would not have been an option, light and heavy tension, raking, pick gun and mini jigglers
the old pick one side and then the other does not work for me!
Any tips Non destructive entry a must!! :D

try a double wrench, putting tension on top and bottom of keyway , or dental picks, both work for me.

Thanks Pinky Tried that! as the cam is directly fitted to two solid bars light tension with a double end tension did not even make any wafer lift. Heavy tension got one side picked but did not budge. :(
As I looked into the keyway the left hand side wafers (lock mounted horizontally) were all present, 5 with a couple of master wafers. The other side looked like there were only three working wafers, but an obstruction cast into the keyway that looked like a wafer about halfway in.
From looking at the keyway it looked like a LF19 (silca) or a euro key.
Tried the dental pick also with a variety of tension tools...
are elec guns, southord inparticular, any good for these? bit noisy I know
Any help?!?
With regards to your PM Pinky, I'm well impressed with your skill with the old curtain picks! :D :D concerted effort to practice. Too many locks, not enough time!!

the curtain wheel is no mystery, just tons of practice and frustration. have you got mini and car jiglers, always good for a try out , pick gun may work, ive always found the double ball pick effective , or a full rake, with rake apply tension and rake one side then rake the other side and so on.

Thanks, think its down to a poor technique with double side cams.. practice practice!
Will have a go, must get hold of a few to practice with in the 'safe' environment!!

Just an idea but can you put a screwdriver into the cam lock and move it back and forth as if opening the lock to loosen the nut holding the heavy bars a little ? This way you may be able to have enough play to pick the lock normally with a 2 prong tension wrench and ball rake. Im assuming the bars are on a locker that move up and down.

yep, a locker. Done one today. light tension as pinky said and one went. The one I tried picking does not open with the right key! even though all wafers move and key's original and same code! bizzarre. The offender has now been pulled before I could get hands on to strip it. I recon it was the bars causing the cylinder to jam although there seemed to be a bit of play both top and bottom.
Will still get some in to practice though
As usual Thanks for advice! :D

It is normally the bars on these causing the sticking as ivedone a few of these. Sometimes putting your foot against the bottom of the locker can take the tension off of one of the bars enough. Its the general abuse of lockers that does this mainly by people who just want to get home and slam them etc
