Picked this cruciform lock that I traded to get. ARS Security protected shackle padlock.

What size is that keyway?



A little closer perhaps?



Had to custom make the tension wrench, as I had never even seen, let alone picked a cruciform lock with that tiny a keyway.

The diamond rake I already had from other small locks. It is made from a bobby pin (hair clip)

That´s a cool lock, I have never seen a cruciform in a padlock. That´s more convenient to store and practice than my steering wheel lock...

I just got done (picking to control) with my last of 4 sfic cylinders. Got them on monday, had 3 open by weds morning and the last one took me until about a minute ago. I am usually happy when I get a lock open, or in this case to the control position. I am just relieved. And a little shocked, but mostly just relief. The crazy part is that the three I got open first were 7pins. This one was a six pin Best and I just could not get it to go! Someone pinned it in an "inconvienient" way

Nice pick Gordon, you get the coolest locks... I have a close friend who is going to Singapor and the Philipeans who is going to pick me up something fun to pick. We will see.

First of all, this lock is a bit on the large side.  Certainly would not want this lock dropped on my foot!

The key works!!!  The shackle is removed.  By examining the shackle, you can see that there are five discs that engage the shackle.



One Scandinavian Jail Lock key made. Ok, it can come out of the naughty box.

It's nothing fancy compared to a lot of the entries in this thread, just a normal Schlage cylinder. But it's my first time getting it open.

Today i have picked a Abus 65/30 and a Abus 65/50 which I managed to get open for the first time yesterday. Still stoked!

I picked a Kenworth Truck door lock, in the rain and sleet, there was just no other way in.

Got a call from a customer locked out of an armored vehicle.
When I got there, it looked more like a moving van than an armored car.
He said he could "Touch" the locking button with his coat hanger but it wouldn't pull up.

I raked it open in under 60 seconds.........easy money.

Oh, and I picked this open too.



Not too hard when you hold it in your hand,
but in it's natural environment, pretty tough to pick.
It's normally covered with a domed face and that is surrounded
by metal sides. Mainly, tough to get your hands and tools in
to work on the thing all at the same time

Another chubb cruiser! Really fun locks to pick. This one has been painted due to insane levels of rust but thankfully the levers were still nice and free to move.

Sure thing. The only picture I have handy is this one from when I first got them years ago. I used the longer wire and the tensioner on the very left. The wire has a slight kink in it similar to curtain wires but I don't think it's really necessary for these, and the tensioner is hollow (like a pipe key) to accommodate the post.

I can take some more detailed pics for you if you want, but I won't have them back for a few days as I've loaned them out in exchange for the chance to play with a pin & cam system for the 3G114. Once I'm done playing with that, I can take some pics from different angles if need be (but I think you get the idea).

If you want though, I have picked them both on youtube and you can see them very well in those videos. They consist 95% of talking rubbish and shoddy camera work though. They actually picked open on cam in under 30 seconds each; the rest of the video is just me trying (and failing) to get a decent view of the levers after it was picked, and the action of the bolt.
