On Friday, this nice man in brown short-shorts and a brown shortsleeve shirrt with the label 'UPS' on it dropped me off quite a nice little gift! The UPS man is like Santa to me. I got _the_ book! "Locks, Safes, and Security: An International Policee Reference"! Behold my glory! If you all form a single-file line, you may take turns touching my arm to feel my divine might. Well.... GET IN LINE!

Is there anyway you can elaborate on the greatness of this book? This isnt the first time i've heard someone ranting over it, and now my curiousity is jumping around. Also, i've heard there are 3 different cd's that come with it. Do you know which cd you got??

The greatness of "The Book" is not to be underestimated. Collected in one document is a wealth of information about all different types of locks, defeat methods, forensic traces, and all kinds of neat stuff. There are very few things that couldnt be found somewhere else with a good deal of effort, but its just soo much nicer to have it all in one volume.

Wow, it's been a month since Xel posted anything. He must be really busy reading that book... Um, is there any way that somebody can provide for me the correct name and the author name, plus any relevant bibliographical information? This would greatly simplify my life... Please?

Hi Varlam

The books name is Locks, Safes, and Security by Marc Tobias.

You can learn all about it at www.security.org.

It costs 200 USD for 1400 pages of excellent information.

There is a free CD of the book available to registered locksmiths.

Along with the main cd comes a set of cds with video on them ...up to 40hrs worth if you have the GOVERNMENT Level. ($600)
