Me VS Anchor 350/45

Postby RyllaN » 7 Apr 2013 14:57

Hi guys!

Im quite new to lockpicking and so far I love it!

I've been practicing on a couple of padlocks. The first one is a Secwise 40 and the other was a Cocraft 300b.
I can now open these locks within a couple of seconds. And a few days ago i got my hands on a Swedish lock, a Anchor 350/45 wich is driving me crazy! I can not understand how to get it open. I have tried to rake and SPP. Iknow that this lock has 5 pins but i don't know if it contains any security pins.

If anyone out there got some experience from these locks, please gimme a tip :)

Here's a picture of the lock.

Welcome!

I don't know about this specific lock. But tell me something, what do you feel when you try to SPP it?
Any of the pins set? Feel any binding?
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

When i SPP, i can feel the first and second pin set, the plug moves a little. Then the third and fourth i can't set, they just spring all the way up and right back down again. The last pin is stuck, can't move it at all. It feels almost like a solid part of the lock and not a pin.

I got this lock from my mother, she took it from her workplace and gave it to me, they changed locks on their computers and had no use for it anymore. I don't have the key to the lock so i can't be sure if it even works. But the lock is only about 2-3 years and rarely opened, so i can't believe it's broken?

If you apply no tension at all, is the last pin stuck too? Or only if there is tension?

Try to lighten the tension all you can to set that pin, without reseting the others. Or try to set it first, it may be first on the binding order. Sometimes it happens you can set another pin and it's not really the next on the binding order...

The pin that you lift when the plug turns a little... Lift it higher. It may be a spool in a false set. If you can lift it all the way up without another pin binding, then it is probably the first pin.

Anchor Las makes very (very) good locks. I would put it aside, and maybe buy a few cheap abus locks to work on...

Nice lock, though :)
