Replacing hinge screws with 3 inch screws?

Quick update. I also bought new exterior doors, and I was explaining to my contractor that I want to use 3 inch screws in the hinges instead of the short screws it comes with, and he showed me that the doors I got actually come with 1 longer screw per hinge (look to be about 2.5 inches)... the rest are the usual short ones.

Is that normal?

You would get more benefit from putting those screws in the strikes.
