The right technique?

On a lock like a schlage with the guard, do you want the pick to slip below the guar or use a half diamond and stay above it?

On a lock like a schlage with the guard, do you want the pick to slip below the guar or use a half diamond and stay above it?

I always angle my pick and use a combination fo half diamond to raise the pins individually, and then a half diamond to finish them if they dont set using the hook. Schlages are my favorite locks to pick.
