US locks for collection

So I'm a beginner collector and I'm looking to expand my collection.
I know a few things about European locks, but I'm not so well informed about US locks.

So I would ask for your advice and suggestions on which locks should I try to get/be on the lookout for for my collection.

So as of now I have a:

Corbin padlock
American 5200 padlock
Another American padlock
Junkunk american padlock
A schlage
2 Kwicksets
2 medeco biaxials
A kwickset smartkey and a corbin emhart is on their way to me



Master lock are not included because those are readily available here so they are not interesting from the collection viewpoint.

Here's my list of US locks which I would like to have in my collection on the long term:
As I mentioned I'm looking for your opinion on amending/supplementing the list
Schlage everest
Sargent Keso
Medeco Air padlock
S&G padlocks (8088, enviromental, 961)
Some SFIC cores

As for quality: are Schlage better quality than kwicksets? Or is it the other way around?

Nice collection ARF-GEF!

Americans I only have 3 American Padlocks and a Kwikset.
But I'm waiting for a Kwikset SmartKey, a Medeco Biaxial and an ASSA Twin.

I will, in future and when I have the means to; try to get a regular schlage, a schlage everest and SFIC cores as I found the control feature very interesting. Nothing like that here

And the idea of having a Corbin Emhart is light years away. From a collectors point of view, that's my holy grail. At least for now!

My personal favorite locks are Corbin and Sargent, I have many of them in my collection. American locks, before Master bought them, were great. I also like Wilson Bohannon padlocks as they are STILL made in the US to this day!

In my opinion, Schlage is lightyears ahead of Kwikset. They have an entire commercial line (Everest, Primus, SFIC etc) that Kwikset can not even come CLOSE to.

I have an Everest Primus LFIC. It's a very nice lock. I do not have a 'standard' Primus though.

I'm not a collector, I'm a locksmith. Since I joined this forum instead of tossing locks away I have been throwing them in a box. I plan to make up nice selections and offer them in the FS section. We used to throw them in the metal recycling bin along with miscut or otherwise non working keys. We could easily fill a 5 gallon bucket in 3 months.

My friendly locksmith. Who I just met, gave me a good box of high security stuff for picking practice. Downside? He had just scrapped over 200 before I called him!
