pick sets to start with...

Tool recommendations, information on your favorite automatic and/or mechanical lockpicking devices for those with less skills, or looking to make their own.

I can't say much on the topic of lock lube having seen so much on both sides of the argument, but I think that the best kit is assembled from a variety of "generalist" picks from the individual category. a hook, a diamond and a good set of wrenches were all I knew how to use from my first kit, after that I just bought individual only

For any beginner I'd recommend a smaller, 10 or so piece set, Southord has always proven reliable to me. Anything bigger than that may seem a little overwhelming to someone trying to figure out the basics. Better to start small, and practice for a while. Then again if you have the money you can just buy something a little more advanced and slowly work your way through the different picks. Have Fun.

Any basic HPC set is great for a start. You just have to be careful as it is easy to deform the ends after a while if you are t ruff.
