Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Lock Saver anyone?

I recently made a review on Lock Saver and thought some of you might be interested in it.
You can also get Lock Saver here in Europe, there is a distribution in Sweden! Links can be found in the description of the video.

Is it just for protection, and not meant to lubricate?
It would be beneficial if it were to leave a Teflon or silicon film behind.

It does leave a Teflon film behind. Look closely and you can make out a VERY slight white nearly invisible film. This is also why it is a dry lubrication. It will protect but not attract any dust. Best to be used on clean surfaces.

Anyone knows if this could be used on combination locks after cleaning them?
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

I think fgarci03 is asking about combination safe locks, though I could be wrong.

Well... that is also what I would do in the first place but since it is a dry lubricant it might be worth thinking about it. It will prevent that the brass wheels corrode after the years.

I know some safe technicians.
Some of them use WD40 (no idea why... just for cleaning purposes mainly)
Some us nothing and just simply clean them.
And a few use this product and swear on it:

This is recommended by Medeco, among other manufacturers:

I do really not mind what a lock company recommends to be honest.
And this product is probably not for safe locks.

But as Arf already said... I usually do not lub my safe locks at all.

+2 DO NOT LUBRICATE SAFE WHEEL PACKS!

the ONLY way in my opinion, to clean wheel packs, is with lighter fluid as it will 100% evaporate & it will desolve any gunk or grease that has accumulated in the wheel packs/on the surface.....

On a side note, the Lock saver looks OK.... but i prefer my Tri-flow.... I cannot see the lock saver having anywhere near the penetrating capabilities that tri-flow has.... No sense carrying around 2 products when you can use tri-flow for it all.
