Requesting Knowledge Base help with IC CORE.

Postby gunny » 6 May 2013 16:58

Allow me to introduce myself, my handle is Gunny. I have recently gotten into the lockpick sport and am enjoying it.

Reason why I am posting:
I have recently aquired a IC CORE lock with no control or ops keys. I ask the group if they can be recreated or created if I take it to a locksmith.

Cost:
How must does a service as such cost?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Semper Fidelis,

Gunny

Yes, a locksmith can determine both keys for you. Expect to pay @ $30.

If you brought it into our shop they would ask you if the key matters and if you say no they will probably charge you 11.55 with tax bringing you to 12.50 with a new master key and a new control key. I am not entirely sure on pricing in the shop though so I could be wrong. If I did it I would dump them into the anex and decode it. But if you wanted a new key I would rekey it pretty quickly both procedures running you 18.75 + tax and additional for each key produced.

It isn't clear if you have just a core or a lock that contains a core.
Rekey a core to random user + control .. under $20 most places.
To REMOVE the core then rekey it to random user + control... more $

In our shop, if the core is in the lock and you need keys made, $65.00
If the core is in the lock and re-keyed, $45.00
Core in hand, keys made, $35.00
Core in hand, re-keyed, $25.00

Our labour rate is pretty high around here.

Those are only $5 off our prices and since yours are CAD and ours are USD we are pretty close. Wouldn't touch an IC core for under $20.

A bit confused what is the difference between the $11.55 price and the $18.75 price.

Wow, Midland has low prices. Just out of curiosity what is the price just for duplicate BEST keys?
