This is the lock-"Border". It is modified copy Italian Cisa lock. That lock for usual metal appartment door.

Not only a very interesting lock but also great photos!

Thank you, very nice post Kerti! :)
What is your opinion about the manufacturing quality Kerti?

Mottura also has very similar locks...

This type of lock(copy of Cisa) make three companies: Elbor,Border, Class.
Border has the best quality in these line. All details have zinc cover. But sometimes manufacturer do not put levers with false notch into the locks, only simple levers.
That lock is not so expensive. About $45.

That lock looks pretty secure!
Not susceptible to overlifting, and picking is a pain in the butt with those anti-pick notches.
If the materials are good quality, I could say it's better than the CISA, as it doesn't have the notches.

Very good stuff.
I have a CISA which I made into a cutaway. Is this the CISA you were talking about?

Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

ARF-GEF and fgarci03,

This Border lock have many ideas and details from cisa and mottura locks. Strange mutant
For example the shape and dimentions are from Mottura 50.798

But inside Mottura have other, but similar design

The shape of lever is similar to your(fgarci03) cisa lock lever. Unlikly, I have not the photos old cisa locks. I think these locks had different type of the springs.

I think it is an amazingly good lock for 45$...
Zinc plates is not as good as steel, but for that price the lock seems more than decent.

The Mottura is of course better quality, but it's much much more expensive too..

...we're glad to have you here!...

+1 on that one! :)

Sorry .I'm not exactly written. All lock details made from steel. But for protect from stain, corrosion and humidity it are coated with a thin layer of zinc.
It indicates to quality, I think. Because other makers to decrease costs can not use coated with zinc.
