Hello,

If you are reading this you probably need help dialing the combination on an old safe, want to know the value of an antique safe you purchased on craigslist, or need to know how to change a combination, mount a safe to the floor, or help choosing a safe. If you lost or do not have the combination, we cannot help you get inside the safe in 5 minutes, this isn't the movies.. There are no cool/secret/fast/easy/free/DIY tricks we can tell you, safes in real life are not as easy as safes in the movies. So if you don't have the combo, we are happy to help you get in touch with the manufacturer fi they're still in business or a qualified safe tech in your area, or offer some basics about safe manipulation, but that's about it.

Although most of this forum is for hobby lock pickers and locksmiths who like to pick locks because they enjoy solving a complicated mechanical puzzle, we occasionally get questions from the public asking for help with safes, missing combinations, dialing instructions, or quick and easy ways to get into a safe.

We will try to be as helpful as possible, but please note safes are a touchy topic and we cannot just tell strangers on the internet how to get into a safe. Doing so would be very irresponsible. Our replies helping an old lady into her safe today, could help a bored teenager into his parent's gun safe or grandma's Oxycontin safe tomorrow. We will not show you how and where to drill, or any other neat tricks. We can tell you about something called safe manipulation where you can learn how to turn the dial and take measurements and notes and feel for certain things in order to extract the combination. This is a time consuming skill which takes a long time to learn and even longer to master. We can help you diagnose a problem, figure out the correct dialing order to dial in your combination, and perhaps provide a user manual or two, but no other details will be provided unless you have membership to our Advanced - Safes sub forum.

Please post your questions here, provide as much detail with what you have already done during the opening of your safe lock, or any attempts you have made at taking apart and fixing or installing your safe lock.

To show us any photos of the safe or issue you have questions about, please upload your photo to http://imgur.com or http://tinypic.com/ and then Copy/Paste the link to the file.jpg into your post.

This forum is volunteer run and member supported, so please be patient as you wait for an answer to your question. You may also check the box before you press Submit to "Notify me when a reply is posted" This will send you an email to let you know someone has posted a reply to your question. Sometimes our answer will be "call a locksmith or safe technician" Please respect our answers and suggestions, not every job can be done at home Do It Yourself, sometimes it's best to pay a safe technician or locksmith.

Thank you and we welcome your feedback,
