Locks with Keys that use moving elements

Currently working on making a key for a Ministry of Works padlock.  Femurat has a good writeup on the MOW padlock, but thought it would be interesting to make a topic for locks that use keys with moving elements.

Please post pictures of your locks (and keys) that have keys which require a moving element in the key in order to operate.  This means MTL Interactive, BiLock NG, ABLOY Protec 2, and all the other keys with moving parts.

Anybody know the oldest key with a moving element?

Here is the MOW padlock, and the key which is still in process of being made and tested.

The key thus far:

And the moving part moved by my finger.  (The epoxy is still drying, and have not cut the pivot pin yet.)

Would really like to see what YOU come up with! Bet we can find some interesting stuff.

A very valid concern was brought to my attention.

PLEASE limit the posts on this topic to pictures of the external views of the locks and keys, and related superficial information. Many of these locks are rightly considered advanced forum material. Please do not post information on breakdown, internal pictures, picking or bypassing these locks.

If we follow these guidelines, hopefully we can keep this topic available on the open forum, allowing people to see locks they may not see elsewhere.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Gordon

Very cool I have seen these locks for sale for a long time on ebay thought it was so strange that it has that long protruding key hole. Figured I would never find or be able to make a key so never bought one. Will be waiting to see a key that actually does work. Looks like yours is well on the way.

The key does look like an original (I don't know how the original is, but the work is insanely perfect).

Was that lock used for a specific application anytime?
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

Yes, they used to be used in the United Kingdom to secure the money in parking meters. The link above to Femurat's topic has a lot of information on the lock.

These are from the patent drawings of the key.

They were my starting point for the key.

Nice key Gordon, but the padlock looks still locked to me

Cheers

Edit: I've seen your other thread with the open padlock. I was sure you made it, I was just pulling your leg. Congrats again for completing this project.

Great work Gordon, and to stay on topic here comes a few pics of all kinds of key with itneractive elements in them

There is a fantastic and detailed description of Multilock interactive here:
An orgy of fantastic pics explanations everything:

So here's just a pic for a taste:

The top of the multilock line has a so called "alpha spring" at the tip, it is something a bit liek a little bell without sides, which can only move up an down a little.

Then there is the DOM IX line, this is the new member:

And the cylinder belonging to it:

Key from the front. The moving element is the center post with the bottom 'leg'

And the moving element pressed in with a hook:
