Question about a lock binding.

Postby KarkarnRed » 23 Jul 2013 17:05

I've searched the forums and found two threads that at first seem to be the answer my question but I think my problem is slightly different. I've picked this WKS brand lock on my lock board and it has bound at 180 degrees from the starting position. Unlike the tutorial I found earlier the pins are not at the top of the lock dropping down but are at the bottom of the lock.

This image shows the lock in question in its stuck state. I'm sure you guys know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can provide.

sounds like the driver pins have dropped into the bottom of the keyway now that you are at the 180 position.
Use the back of the pick to lift all the drivers back up and continue the plug rotation.

I was thinking about the lock entirely wrong, forgot the driver pins don't actually move with the plug. Thanks for sorting that out for me problem solved. Feel quite bad now that was a really daft mistake  .

Meh, don't worry mate.

The same thing happened to me on the first lock I picked... On my friend's front door!

Guess I learned the hard way!
Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.

Well luckily I had no one looking over my shoulder judging me, just a lockboard in my bedroom. Thanks again for the help :D
