Aegis dead bolt

Postby TheIncarnate » 25 Jul 2013 0:12

I'm trying to find the company that manufactures the brand of deadbolt that says "aegis" right above the key way. From what I can tell they are manufactured by a company called Banham? not sure if this is right.

Here is a picture of the lock in question.

Anyone know who makes this lock?

Banham don't manufacture anything, they either re-brand or outsource production. Originally their locks were produced by the Yannedis Brass foundry in London, and currently they use Imperial Locks in Willenhall. Their safes and alarms are all simply re-badged products from existing manufacturers.

I have never seen an Aegis lock, either on a customers door or in a Banham showroom, but I would bet it's simply a budget cylinder they carry for sale to people who can't drop £100 on a rim cylinder.
