yet another pick i haven't seen before

Ok, first off, that i haven't seen it before doesn't really mean much.



I'm wondering about this lock pick tool. On DX they call it a "AML020056 Civil Lock Quick Forced Open Tool"

If it is actually a tool for forcing a lock open, thus not a lock pick at all, my interest in this tool will suddenly vanish. Breaking stuff is just too easy. But usually the description on this website is far off, so you never know.

If it is a pick: what kind of locks is it good for?

Just as an example of the bad information on DX: the description for a tool to pull cylinders out of a lock says that it's a "non destructive tool that will not damage the lock". I had a good laugh about it.

Although I'm not absolutely sure, I think this is for a specific type of lever locks.
Kinda like an overlifter of something...

hmm, maybe, but then i can't visualize what the spring is for, retracting and extending the tip...

and for overlifting, why does the tip have to spin separately from the rest?

Yes that is true.

I have an idea I found something online about this tool some time ago. I can't remember now
If I happen to find it out I'll let you know

The tip spins independently so you can tension the bolt without disturbing the lever pack.
