My ultimate set as a newbie

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

My ultimate set as a newbie

Postby BOBO » 14 Oct 2004 16:08

First, thanks for letting me lurk all these months...I've finally signed up and am trying to contribute some! I've read what seems to be dozens of requests for "what's the best set" or "which are the best picks" etc. So, I pooled my resources and finally bought several different sets to see what I prefer. And by the way, I have a few SouthOrds sitting next to the couch for when I'm watching TV.

This is what I consider "MY" ultimate pickset (not basic set) - which I purchased entirely on-line without being a locksmith. Believe me, there's a wonderful world of toys out there. I want to reiterate, these may be no better than hacksaw blade picks to some - but I love the cool factor - and they each have a very viable purpose (imho) 8)

These are the ones that I love best!

pick set

How do you find the Rytan picks? They seem to be difficult to get in
UK. Like the look of the HPC wafer picks - are they any good?? Cool set! :D

sidpick - These are where I have personally shopped. I am not affiliated with any of these sites - in any way. However, they have ALL provided WONDERFUL customer service, and lightning fast delivery (to Florida).

Very respectable set you have there. Have you considered adding a Rytan RY5798 compact plug spinner.

I have a Peterson Tri-Fold Case with the 9 Peterson designs and various other picks and toys from different manufacturers as well... Their case is probably the best I have seen and used because it holds lots of tools for when you want to mix and match it just can't be beat IMO... Just began using the Rytan compact spinner and like it quite a bit. Most folks are listing them for $19.95, but Rytan is selling them direct for an introductory price of $9.95 directly from their site.

Due to the rainy PA weekend, I may have time to post pics of my toys as well.

I have also been lurking for a bit and this is my first post. LOVE THE SITE!!!

Nice set. Love the HPC wafer picks. Could you zoom in on them and post the pic?
Thanks.

BOBO...

Seems like we think alike... Here's a pic of my daily carry set in the Peterson Tri-Fold case. I have several other sets and tools, but this set-up more often than not gets the job done.
