Who makes gonzo hooks?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Who makes gonzo hooks?

I've been looking all over for a gonzo pick for sale, but only find one as part of the toool "credit card" set. Anyone know where they can be bought?

Gonzo is a slang name for a deep hook, because the look like the Muppet character Gonzo's nose. Most sellers probably refer to them as a deep hook or a steep hook.

Good luck!

Gordon

Take a look at the new-ish Peterson Euro Hook4. http://www.thinkpeterson.com/picks.html#EURO%20Series%20Picks. It's slightly taller than the one in the Toool card but basically the same shape.

you could make one yourself from the 'postal' hook that a lot of picksets come with. i've never used one the way they come from the factory, so making a useful tool out of one is one way to go.

With a standard file and some sand paper I think you could make an ok gonzo with just a standard long hook pick.

The one thing I've found the Peterson Postal to be good on are some Keymark keyways. The tip on the Peterson is a little thinner than on the Sourthords and you can get it around that jag in the keyway and strait up the chamber. If the lock has a lot of deep cuts this can be the only way other than a thin wire to get at the pins without over setting them.
