Best place to order Peterson picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Best place to order Peterson picks

Postby somenewguy » 3 Oct 2013 21:49

I have a list of Peterson picks I would like to order. Is there anywhere online that is cheapest/best to order from? Should I just go right to the source?

Has anyone signed up online for their "Special Offers" email list? I put my email address in weeks ago but as of yet still not received any emails from them.

Peterson may have a list of dealers on his website, but if it were me I'd just buy from the source.

And DX doesn't have Peterson picks. I've ordered a few picksets, locksmith tools and DE tools from there, got shorted almost every time I placed an order. Does not inspire confidence.

Get them directly from Petersons. You won't find a reseller that does them cheaper.

I would get them from Petersons directly.
They are a little cheaper and you can get the rubber handles there.
Some prefer the plastic handles but I like the rubber because the steel goes all the way down the handle
where as the plastic handle picks only have steel about 1 inch into them.
Some people feel the plastic has better feedback, I like the feel of both, but for that kind of money
I like a full length steel pick , just in case the plastic cracked or broke.
Just my personal preference.

Thanks for the responses. Will buy on the Peterson site.

Has anyone ever signed up for their email list and gotten any emails from them?

Peterson is excellent, I have not signed up for their email list, but I have sent several emails to contact Peterson through their website and have had the CEO answer each time within 4 days. I am absolutely impressed with Peterson. I'd recommend contacting them before ordering, they are often willing to make special deals or groupings if you are interested in a particular assortment.

Hmmm really, even for smaller orders (say 4 - 5 items)?

Well, I imagine buying from resellers is still supporting Peterson since the resellers obviously pay Peterson for the product... I'm just cheap I mean, trying to get a deal!

Absolutely, I ordered just one item last time, I emailed him with a question about the product and he responded with a very helpful reply. He replied within an hour of my contacting him.

I guess I better add that I've only made one previous order directly through them and that time it was for only 6 items. My first Peterson purchase was Ken's Pick Set but it was through lockpickshop.

I have ordered Peterson products from lockpickshop.com; however, most times I order direct from Peterson.

Just wanted to follow-up. Turns out I did successfully sign up for their e-mail list; the emails were in my spam folder! Duh

I am interested in some peterson picks also. But on the website it says "Warning: In accordance with 39 USC Section 3002a, this site is solely for the use of Security Professionals. Only the following are permitted to purchase items from this site: BONA FIDE LOCK MANUFACTURERS OR, DISTRIBUTORS, LOCKSMITHS, REPOSSESORS, OR MOTOR VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS OR DEALERS.

By ordering from this site, purchasers swear, attest and represent under penalty of perjury, that they are active authorized professionals in one or more of the above approved professions, and further attest and represent that they are authorized to receive products from this site through the US Mail.

We actively scrutinize purchases made from this site to ensure strict legal compliance with these requirements, and reserve the right to refuse shipment of any order that we do not believe to be lawful or appropriate."

What gives?
