KLOM 7-pin Pick

Postby mrbubl3s » 10 Oct 2013 19:00

So I bought a tubular lock pick on aliexpress.com a while back, it arrived today and I've been attempting to open a bunch of my locks with it. I've been unsuccessful every time, and I've no clue what the problem is. I even tried cloning a key that goes to a guncase of mine but It still won't budge and I'm completely baffled. Any ideas what I'm missing?

resetting the tool in between tries?
I have one of those and it works extremely well, so much so that I got bored with it pretty fast, no challenge there. It's a bypass tool though, not allowed to discuss it.

Yeah I've been resetting, I've tried the rubberband thing too. I don't understand why even the copies I made with it don't work though.. It's like there's something wrong with it. I see, I guess I'll just have to figure it out muhself. Thanks.

Some higher quality tubular locks might have different strength of springs under each pin making this tool unusable.
Making a key of the impression after you could NOT open the lock doesn't make sense, the impression was apparently incorrect.

Just try single pin picking the lock, much more fun and at least we can discuss it here in more detail. :)

Try tightening the collar a little.

If it's an impressioning style pick be sure you are not rocking the pick while using it. Also, short steps during the impressioning process ensures you don't miss the shear line.

Mine works perfectly. Of course you can only make a working key from the pick once it opens the lock and you lock the fingers down and make sure the pick will operate like a key.

Ahah! I was indeed rocking it and I wasn't taking small enough steps, adjusting the collar also helped. Sadly several pieces of the circular key bit have chipped off due to cheap metal and use. Thanks though, I know how to use them now. :)
