Cisa Astral S - Any advice?

Postby l0ckcr4ck3r » 29 Sep 2013 19:32

Been picking on one of these for about 6 hours and still no joy! I really didnt think it was gunna be too hard. in the following link, it mentions "Anti-Pick profiled Brass pins and drivers" at the top of the lock. I take it, that means they are active pins?

Any advice would be welcome... Im using the curved pick from the GOSO set with the "Z" tensioner.

Ignore the top pins - they are passive key profile pins. They only matter when the plug actually starts to turn. As a pick will not block them up, they will drop down automatically when the plug is turned. They do not provide any real pick resistance, only key blank control.

The bottom set of pins is the problem. This lock uses spool drivers, so you will need to find which pins cause counter rotation, and allow the counter rotation to happen.

Good luck!

Gweis2001 do you have an exploded diagram. Of a link to one. Cause from the sounds of your reply it's like the old evva dps.

The DPS is not a dimple lock like the CISA Astral S. The DPS uses a passive sidebar for key control, but the theory is the same. If you click on the link the OP posted, there is a diagram. ;-)

You could also look for infos about picking ABUS D10, it's basically the same lock (without the snap resistance).
