Finally!

Although I don't consider this a skilled picking, as I picked the sidebar clumbsily and was a lucky shot.. But first time it popped!

Good job Filipe! That is really great, keep up the good work. I would rather be lucky most days…besides that, an unskilled picker wouldn't get that lock open no matter how lucky they were!

So today it was something different!

Picked my first BEST lock to user sheerline (still gotta do it to control) and a Master Padlock FrankenLocked by Gordon! Both locks came originally from Phrygianradar!

Have loads of stuff to have fun with now... Will update new slayings!

P.S. - The master padlock had these bad boys in it!

Gordon has took the time to fabricate pins and put them on the lock. ALERT!! VERY FUNNY STUFF!
Also he used this key configuration:

I had a wonderful afternoon today

Glad you had fun, fgarci03! Had fun making the two middle key pins, too. 8)

They look like this:

The shorter one just has a steeper angle. Made using a drill, a file and sandpaper. Would have worked better with a not-so-open keyway, but still loads of fun.

Nice one FG,
a Master with those little bastards in it
What irony :D
They are really cool Gordon! Lockmakers should be busy taking notes.

@Gordon: I would love to have a go on a lock with those little schmucks as spools! The very steep angles make them a real challenge.

If you are looking for a design to test, I thought about this (please correct me if I'm wrong, as I just woke up and am TOO sleepy!):
Image
Basically it's like a spoorated pin, but with angles before and after the serrations.

I thought about this because the way I use to NOT overset the pins is to be aware of the amount of the counter rotation they do when pushed against. It's hard to explain, but when a pin is set and you push it further, you kinda feel a very slight counter-rotation on it. This design is an attempt to simulate that. I believe this can simulate a little of that, and make it a little more difficult to see if it's set or not.

Or am I using a holed plot?

That looks cool FG, but wouldn't the slopey- end part get sheared off or at least damaged during normal use?

Good point... Instead of making it pointy, make it flat.. The main thing about these is to have tiny steep angles to simulate a very small and hard conter rotation. And the serrations before it to make it look like it's set!

Thanks

LOL yes there is! We used to be fearless and brave. Now we just complain about everything!
There is also a reason we don't rule anything anymore, remember? :P

@Achyfellow: The kind of pins aren't that difficult once you get used to them. There is a lot of info on the forum about how to pick serrated pins. If you still have doubts let me know and I'll try to help whatever way I can!
I may get my Americans out again and make a tutorial on serrated pins if I ever get better at them.

Anyway, I see that you are in Spain, on my profile there's a link to my blog (it's in Portuguese) and I made a post about serrated pins.. Maybe it can help you a little?

The "spooled" keypins Gordon made are evil!  Once you overset a pin, there is virtually no way you can unset it without reseting the lock completely (that I know of...). So very carefull not to overset anything... Which kinda makes it confusing when dealing with serrated pins! Hahaha

And for final, it's a Master Lock, so the keway was pretty roomy... Even with that pin configuration I was able to move my picks inside easily. The ahrd thing was the plug moves a little so my tension has jumped a few times
These pins on a tight keway like Y1 would totaly ROCK!

FG is being bit too modest. From my experience those must be really hard to pick.
