I had problems with this very same lock when I was starting to become familiar with picking. In the current c870 Chateau lock I own, there are 3 spools in the front (beginning of lock), and 3 normal pins in the back. The binding order on my lock is 123456, 123. It requires a pretty light picking touch with pulsing tension. I failed picking it soo many times that the warding on the front of the plug became ruined. I also had it open by sheer luck a handful of times with the small snake rake. I had a well known member on the KP forum help me, and he picked it with ease. Eventually I became proficient at picking this lock, over and over. But yes this can be a pretty tricky lock. I would try and become more familiar with spool pins before attacking the lock further.
