Hey everyone, long time no see. (Well technically I stopped by from time to time but)

First I want to apologize if this isn't the right place to put this, it said I didn't have permission to post in the general lockpicking page. Anyway it's good to see this place still going strong, I guess it's been about six or seven years since I was on here on a daily basis. I got bit by the bug again and had to drag out all my old homebrew tools. (Next on the list is getting the southord pxs-14 haha) Well I'm just really just saying hi again but I wanted to also say I see a hard road ahead for me, I got out all my old locks and have been picking for two nights and I still can't get my no.3 masterlock open. I see that as a bad sign since I used to do that in like 5 seconds. I'm attributing part of it to not having my favorite pick anymore (broke it in college) but I did get the no.140 masterlock so all hope is not lost, planning to place an order to lockpickshop and get me a good set soon. Anyway it's good to be back and I'm sure I'll see you around some more.

Ok, first an apology for starting a new thread to just say hi, I found that thread today while I was reading at work. But I wanted to update ya'll about me getting back into it. Mostly I've just been reading on here and watching videos like mad, but while I watch the videos I've been picking the locks I have. I finally got both the Masterlock no.3 and the masterlock no. 140 last night, strangely the 140 is way easier to pick now than the 3 which used to be super easy. I have reduced the amount of tension I use compared to years ago. I still have a brinks deadbolt and a china brand lock (if I remember correctly it was "mountain something") from walmart that I haven't tried yet and a masterlock 40mm (blue casing) that I've had for years but couldn't pick. It dawned on me last night that one of my problems may have been that I haven't ever lubed these locks or cleaned them so I lubed the 140 and 3 up with WD40 (all I had in a pinch) and we'll see if I can tell a difference but I think that'll probably make a world of difference. That and I used to use a larger half diamond (till it broke) and now I've been using a small diamond which I never liked as well.

Anyway sorry for the wall of text I just wanted to let ya'll know how much I like this site and that I'm making progress. Thanks again guys. Back to reading now.....

Welcome back. People come and go a lot, but seldom return after a long absence. Good to see you've picked it up again.
