Picking Indian Locks

Postby theking786 » 1 Dec 2013 2:42

Hi All,

i am new to this forum and dealing with the problem to pick an Indian Lock. I have seen Illusions guide for lever lock picking and really that was a great help. I tried to follow the same approach to pick one lock (Indian) that I have but possibly get half way through. I am able to turn the keyhole easily a couple of times but can't open it completely.

Here is the description of locks commonly available in India:

http://www.engineersgarage.com/insight/ ... rks?page=1

I am trying to pick a Hitler 7 lever lock (7 -8 lever locks are common here), the lock looks like Wizers lock posted at (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=49199&p=384163&hilit=hitler#p384163) except it has 7 levers and have following observation regarding the lock:

1. The curtain (or key tunnel, as mentioned in 1st link) turns freely even without key.
2. Key begins to engage levers when turn 90 degrees clock wise during unlock or 90 degree counter clockwise during lock.
3. Latch releases or engage (during locking) the shackle after key turns 180 degrees.

I am sorry to start new topic even as already similar discussions have been made earlier on such locks. But those were so old and haven't been updated from long time. Maybe anyone got a breakthrough to it. Please tell me if more info is required.

Please help..!!!

Thanks in advance.

Is it your lock to be picking or are you trying to pick someone's lock?
