Cal's Fingersquare

Fingersquare (or thumbsquare, whatever)

Anyone have any experiences with this kind of thing? Wondering if it's worth the effort making. Seems useful and unwieldy at the same time.

Finger in Square" tm adjusts from light tension to rigid, just by feel.

Ohhhh its not computer operated?????....
It seems to fall under the novelty catagory, but ya never know, get the right metal and it may give good feedback.

Seems like a good idea, but i wouldn't spend $10 on something I could make for ten cents.

Have seen them online, but never used one... To me, it seems like you wouldn't get proper feedback from where your finger needs to be placed(knuckle of index finger rather than fingertips) on the tool. It also just seems a bit awkward with the bends in it that to me would also rob you of the needed feedback.

Maybe some of the others can take a look at this tool and share their thoughts. For $10 I'd just buy a handful of tension tools and mod them to my needs.

Would be interested to see if anyone in here has used one and what they think...

Maybe Cal & Falle should team up. They could call themselves "F'calle" 'cos that's what they'd be selling.

"Sorry, what did you say?"..... My house-mate (who knows nothing about lock-picking) says "I could make that from brazing rod."

I could make (and have made) a perfectly functional tension wrench which adjusts from 'light' to 'rigid' from an Allen key.

It blows my mind, to see what crap people will try to market as a 'proper' locksmithing tool.
Image If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

Heh, yeah, they make it seem like the ability to change the amount of tension is a miracle of modern technology.

Oh my....well...I guess it would work. 'Cept that by the time you're done fitting that thing on your finger the lock could be picked normally and removed from the door...oh well. I guess 380 or so people have bought it.
