How come Mintcraft doesn't turn up in a search?

I've got a couple of what I think are Mintcraft commercial locks in handles. I got given them from a local locksmiths - no keys. Maybe $80 a piece retail.

From what I gather, they are 6 pins, rekeyable with a schlage and looks like an SC1 Keyway.

Other than that, I know nothing, with respect to secuurity pins etc. Light tension needed to set the binding pin, so I guess it's decent.

My POS wiper blade pick can't get at the rear pins over pin 4, so I'll have to see if I've been a good boy and Santa brings me my ultimate Peterson kit for Chrimbo. I also asked my cat for the kit as a backup, incase I haven't been good, so I'm pretty sure I'll get it.

In the meantime, anyone picked one of these or know anything more about the pins?

In a Search here or in Google search? If it has not been discussed here before it will not show up in a search.

Looking at some of their stuff on Amazon it looks like low quality imports.

Never heard of this company until your post. Maybe they're new to locks, so not many folks have been exposed to them yet.

Ha! Yes, I meant the search on here. I assumed you guys would have already been all over them!

Most our stuff gets imported from the states - the hardwear store is full of Kwikset, Schage Masterlock padlocks and some Mintcraft commercial offerings

I've lived in the UK and Europe, now the caribbean - the name seemed familiar to me in locks for some reason. Maybe the sun is getting to me;)

I found the same amazon link to that lever kit - it looks just like that. Gotta say that if feels pretty decent though.

Got a bunch of weight to it and feels much tighter than a Kwikset. Certainly light tension to move bound pins, so decent tolerances, I would say.
Guess I can tell you a bit more about it when my pick set clears customs and I manage to pick the thing and get a look at the pins!

Mintcraft is a house import brand of one of the hardware store wholesalers.

Do you mean that Mintcraft is the designated "hardware store, own-brand" version of a lock that is manufactured by a leading lock manufacturer, specifically for those for hardware stores?

Not exactly. It's all imported, non-brand name stuff that is private labeled for a particular group of hardware stores.
