Has anyone tried or has the lock pick set on http://enterthecore.net/equipment.html?

I haven't but the set does look like a good starter pick set if you're a beginner.

That is Deviant Ollam's consulting business page. It is the same set as on the TOOOL.us page. http://toool.us/equipment.html

I have the set, got it at DEF CON last year. It's nice but the steel is a little soft given how thin the shanks of the tools are - specifically the hook and the Deforrest diamond. I am not too tough on tools these days but managed to bend both of these pretty quickly. They do bend back just fine however. I would still recommend the set given that the variety of picks and the tension wrenches are awesome, just don't crank on the picks too hard.

The pre-scored blanks are code cut keys. So $5 each is not outrageous. It is $50 for a pack of ten.

They can be nice if you are having a hard time knowing where the impressioning marks are at. As you gain experience, they become pretty much obsolete, since you get an eye for what is really a mark and what is not.

Wow... That 'Enterthecore' site is nice! I have never seen the kind of electronic hardware on that site anywhere else, especially the ones for alarms. Thanks for sharing.

Also, I had some trouble finding it, but a member here had a very easy method of scoring blanks. You simply drag the sharp tip of a caliper locked at the correct height across the blank. The only issue I can see is the tip of the caliper wearing out or being deformed, resulting feature measurements to be skewed.

I ordered from them a few months ago. Order took weeks to process and when it finally arrived it was shorted a few items. They haven't answered my e-mails about it either.

Has anyone else had issues ordering from them?

I believe they recently doubled the price. $20 for 10 blanks is pretty crazy too. If the bump keys are code cut and only $2.50 I don't see why the pre-scored keys are $5 each.

It apperas that I was mistaken about the pre scored blanks. I thought pre scored meant that the possible depths were scribed on the side of the key blade, whereas actually they are blanks cut to 0 by code machine, and hence cannot be made DIY style. I guess the term I was referring to was scribed blanks...

You can "pre-score" your blanks by hand cutting a 0 bit. Measure your key blank to see how much material you have to work with and file down to the zero bitting. You can also just give it a single pass and I've seen some people just do a single pass on the entire length of the profile. Some key blanks have no cut at all for a zero cut.

These blanks are scored for the Space part of Depth & Space. It is to make it easier to properly space your file marks while impressioning.

As far as the OP who had trouble with ordering, all I know is that Deviant and company are at a different security conference or maker faire, or hacker con practically every weekend, so I don't think he's ever home to actually fill orders in the same timely manner you would expect from Amazon.com or an ebay seller. I think they're probably ok if you don't mind waiting a month to get your stuff, but maybe it should be stated on their site that orders will be filled when someone can get to them in a week or two. I haven't read everything on his site, so I am not sure what the terms and conditions are.
