Question About Door Knob Lock Disasemble

While cleaning out the closet under my stair case I found buried treasure . It's a semi old door knob with a lock (without a key). I managed to get the lock open and turned to the unlocked position. When I went to try and take it apart I ran into a wall. I am accustomed to the knob having a hole near the base of the knob and inserting either a paperclip or a screw driver to depress the latch and remove the knob and lock, however after carefully inspecting I found that this knob has absolutely no holes on it. The brand seems to be HSC. The only markings on it are "HSC PD" and a date of 09/2003. I could not find a website for HSC or a manual. Is this lock not serviceable or is there another way to get the knob off and lock out?

Thanks for the manual. I'm trying to follow those directions but still can't seem to get it apart.

Step 1. Lock is off door.
Step 2. There is no shield that I can see.
Step 3. Made sure the boss on the spindle is Lined up with slot on the bearing and stays that way.

Step 4. With spindle facing down I pressed on the detent slide (using a screw driver, don't have removal tool) and it does not come off, even with pulling it.

I'm either doing something wrong or the lock is very very stiff and I'm not using enough force. I pushed on it really hard though.

have you picked the lock and turned the keyway 180 degrees? (i think it said something about this in the manual if you dont have a control key)

Your problem is with Step 4...

You shouldn't be pressing on anything, with the official tool you are sliding it in and pivoting it catching the slide and pulling it away from the spindle... You should see the plate move (in the second picture in your first post, in the spindle hole there is a piece of metal surrounding the spindle with amber colored grease on it) and the spindle will now be free, if you have pulled on the spindle and it won't come out it is because you have not retracted the slide properly and the plate has not opened keeping the spindle locked in place...

In the manual linked by the previous poster, your lock is described on Page 8...

Your problem is with Step 4...

I always press on the slider which moves the opposite side of the slide away from the spindle allowing the spindle to pop out. I have never hooked anything to remove a Kwikset knob. Is it not like this Kwikset?

Thanks guys. It is indeed just like the Kwikset shown on page 8 of the manual. That video helped too. Once I found the right spot I got the spindle out no problem. Still working on getting the cylinder to pop out, It seems it would be a whole lot easier if I had the official removal tool. Will likely pick one up. Anyway I now know what needs to be done so thanks again

If it is a standard Kwikset you can use a couple of small flat screwdrivers, slide one on each side of the spring retainers and push down, a little twist will kelp it work even better.

Agreed.
Once the center shaft is removed, slide one long small screw driver or ice pick into the hole, keeping it against the outer edge of the hole as you slide it down, either at 3 or 6 o'clock compared to the keyway.
You should be able to feel the spring retainer/s as you do.
Feeling with one screw driver first may help find the spring retainer.
Once you have a feel for it, add a second screw driver to the opposite side.
You may have to cross the screw drivers like the blades of a pair if scissors.

Even with the proper forked removal tool, I often find you need to insert the tool, then turn the knob and tool so you can tap the non forked end of the tool against your bench top to pop/force the cylinder out.
