Wondering which locksmith course to take? Looking for locksmith license info for your locale? This is the forum for you.

lock out questions

Postby dixondoy80 » 3 Mar 2014 10:57

I am going to be working with a local locksmith doing vehicle lock outs and eventualy work on getting my license. How would I go about asking questions about it without having access to advanced forum?

Reason: please DONT USE ALL CAPS LOCK in your posts... people will see them in non capitalized letters just as well. edit: Subject line to non caps. -Squelchtone

Sorry about the all caps. I use all caps on everything at work and sometimes I forget to turn it off.

That would pretty much defeat the purpose of the advanced forum.
Just be patient, participate, apply for advanced when you qualify.
I believe this is just about the third time this issue has come up with you; please stop wasting our time by asking the same question in different ways just because you're not getting the answer you want.

As it says in the rule post of the advance section,
The whole point is to spend some time getting to know people, to ask questions, teach others, get along with others, become part of this great community and demonstrate growth that one can handle getting access to other areas of the forum.

So if you're going to get your license with locksmithing then waiting 50day with 50post should be no problem since you want a job in the field.

Im sorry if it seems im asking the same questions in a different way because that is not my intensions. I am buy no means trying to "work" my way into the advanced forum. I can only afford to buy some of the tools and was going to ask questions about the ones I can't afford but I will be paitent.

Well I almost got to do my first lockout today. We were geting my wifes truck fixed here at work and she locked the loaner keys in the truck. Its a side winder key and we don't have a cutter for those yet. We looked all over the dealer for the extra set. Could not find. Found a lock out kit and as soon as I pulled it out of the bag my wife said "thats not the truck its the one beside it". That one did have a extra set. Kinda disappointed.

So lock it back up and give it a try.

Take your tools to your local junk yard and go nuts. Its the best way to get gain experience.

I agree. Junkyards are wonderful training grounds.

If you have any specific questions about tools, feel free to send me a PM and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

X2 on the junkyards. I trained our new apprentice this way, spent about 4 hours out there. Nice way to unlock alot of different brands in a short period of time.
