I bought the stainless ones off serepick. I know they aren't actually Raimundo's custom work, but I figure at least I'm buying from a site he actually sells his work through. Also, I feel like the bend makes all the difference. I have a friend who has the southord flats. They aren't anywhere near as comfortable to use and I don't get the same results.

I have both, neither compare to the real deal but the Sparrows double and triple are way better than the Southord ones. The Southord Pagotas are way too tall and the peaks are stretched out/too far apart. They also have a couple of crazy designs in there that look pretty much useless. -Brian

Really? I really need to get my hands on those. I've been hearing here and there about "Sparrows" being the best, but my southord ones work great as well . . .

Here are the ones I have that are mentioned in the thread. Top to bottom: Southord, Sparrows, SerePick Titanium Flats, SerePick Titanium Bogota. The Southords aren't useless, just not as good as the Sparrows in my opinion. -Brian

I just ordered the Southord triple today, and the pic on the website wasn't as clear as yours. Would you recommend grinding the corners out? What I mean by that is, if you're looking at the pick from the front tip, going from [] to ().

Every time I go into this thread, I always consider getting the "other" bogotas. lOl

I have both the titanium flats (the popcicle sticks) and the titanium bogotas (the one with the tension tool at the end). I find the bogotas work really well, especially since you are "forced" to hold it in a different way, thus teaching you that brute force scrubbing isn't the way.
The popsicle sticks, I use them for really narrow thunderbolt style keyways. Somehow or other, the bogotas can't seem to get in there smoothly. Also, I find that sometimes just scrubbing/jiggling does 95% of the work - you still need to spp the final pin/pins. You can't quite do that with the bogotas as the half diamond is already in use as the tension tool.
My personal choice - carry both sets as my EDC, along with the peterson prybar lite.

I'm very new to picking and entirely new to the forum. My titanium bogotas came from Serepick, and I had no idea that they weren't made by Raimundo. Designed by Raimundo, I suppose, but produced by machine?

some picks are made about .015 which is a great pick for trying to bind your picks and working around tight keyways and in high security locks where a good fit is a must but for new pickers you will not be able to appreciate a pick like this because you might think its to flemsy on the other hand most picks are made around 0.25 which i find a lot tuffer pick i only use the 0.015 picks on special occasions and i would try peterson goverment steal so i dont end up prying broke pick pieces out of my locks!

I know this post is old, but this is for the benefit of other people who think like that as well: Postal employees aren't going to commit a felony for your $30, even if they have magic X-ray eyes that allow them to see through your envelope (you are using security envelopes, right?). The reason you hide your cash is so other people (especially in apartment complexes) don't steal the mail. Keep everything as flat and letter-like as possible so USPS's automatic sorting machines don't shred the envelope.

+1 to what Legion303 states. I have mailed cash many times, slid into the middle of a folded letter and enclosed in a No. 10 security envelope (standard business size). I always drop such things directly in a postal drop box, rather than leaving clipped to the front of my mailbox for pickup, and I'm more likely to send to a P.O. Box than a household address.

Re: sending cash in the mail. For laughs and giggles, about six years ago, I mailed a a plain ten dollar bill in a clear plastic baggie with a return address and a regular stamp to a friend from Quebec to BC. The transparent plastic envelope was the same size as the bill. He received it ten days later. It's my homage experiment to Stanley Milgram and a credit to the Canadian Post Office. It was legal but I don't know what the upper limits of that experiment might be. Get a grant and let us all know. I have the Sparrows double and triple peaks, sometimes they work in five seconds and sometimes they don't.

that depends on the postman....i sent money for some picks in the mail and it never got there. granted, i did stuff the money in the envelope in front of everybody there so who knows. ive over-nighted fairly large sums of money on multiple occasions and never had a problem. its a few bucks more but worth the peace of mind imo
