Master M1 can only SPP counter-clockwise

Postby picogermain » 11 Mar 2014 18:06

Hi all, i have this weird problem with this Master M1. I can rake it easily and i've done other M1 there's nothing special in those locks and that's why my problem is even more frustrating. I can SPP all my 10 America Lock 1105 and my Brinks 527 I even make my own deadbolt challenge. But the Master M1 I can only SPP counter-clockwise. Here's a link to a video.

If you have any tips or suggestion it would be really appreciated

Thanks !

Some locks just plain pick easier in one direction than the other.

I know that, but the thing is that it is not unlocking when going counter-clockwise the plug just rotate

Try top of the keyway tension, more tension, less tension, start with a different pin if more than one is binding at all. If all else fails, this is where a plug spinner is super nice to have.

It sounds like he is saying that the plug turns, but the lock does not pop open. Does the lock open with the key turned in that direction? If so, look at how far the plug turns, and see that you are turning the plug that far with the tension wrench.

In the video, it looked like the bottom plate of the lock is configured to only allow the key to turn clockwise (like on an American).

Yes the lock is designed to be unlocked with the key going clockwise just like an American Lock. That's why I remove and replace my tension wrench in the video so i can rotate the plug wihtout hitting the casing.
