The Schlage Primus is an excellent lock. It is quite pick resistant. Nobody who is not quite skilled at picking will get it open. Also, there is a pretty broad base of locksmiths across the United States who can service the locks.

There is no such thing as "pick proof" for any lock that has a mechanical key, with the possible exception to the ABLOY Protec lock.

It is far more likely that either the lock currently on your door is easy to pick or bump, somebody has a key, or they are finding another way into your apartment.

One other thing to consider - every rental contract I have seen prohibits the renter from changing the locks without express, written consent from the landlord. If you do get that consent, the landlord will be legally entitled to one key to the lock.

Now the Kaba L10, it provides key control only and no other high security features.

Also, these threads are entertaining but you really should consider that if your situation as serious as you say, is it wise to trust a bunch of random people on the internet for advice? Your local law enforcement really are the folks you need to be talking to.

Quote of the day right there  :D

Dude, you have like three threads on this. 2 of which are normal, lock questions, 1 is saying somebodies breaking in. I think everybody is asking which is the real one.

How do you know the law enforcement are doing it? This really seems like a spy-movie. I don't think you should really put all your trust in an internet forum (if this is real). You said you had friends. Why don't you just ask them about the security of your lock to solve this dilemma?

Please help me keep the forum clutter free and try not to open 3 threads for the same issue (securing your home).. you need advice on locks, let's keep all the advice in one easy to read thread, rather than starting a thread for each brand and model lock you are considering. I am going to merge the threads.
