Locked Typewriter

I bought a typewriter today, and when the case closed it locked. The "wings" are locked in place, and I have never seen a lock like this. Any one know how to crack it? The lock is two rectangles, the top larger rectangle has two wings that should press in, and a lock that is a thin rectangle with a circle in the middle. I have a picture but I can figure out how to load it.

Go to http://www.tinypic.com and upload the picture.
1. Click choose file. Select the picture file and hit open.
2. Click Upload Now.
3. A box will pop up with a security verification. Play the video or whatever it asks you to do to reveal the security code.
4. Enter the code (It's case sensitive) where is says" Your Answer" and then click Upload Now.
5. After it's uploaded you will be directed to a "Share This Image" page. Copy the entire URL in the last box that says "Direct Link for Layouts".
6. Paste the link in your reply and post it.

Your image is shared

Once we have a picture we will know what you are dealing with.

I have one exactly like that on a pin kit I own. If you bend the very tip of a paper clip in to 90 degrees you should be able to use it like a key. Just insert on one side and sweep the tip around to the other side. There should be a small catch on one side or the other that will flip and unlock it.

Looks like a remington typewriter case, too bad you aren't around here I have keys for stuff like that
I still stand by my earlier post, the key looks very much like the dispenser key I posted, it is a bit
smaller tho. You can prolly make one from a can lid and an old scissor. When it's unlocked you just
squeeze the two tabs together to unlatch the case

I also have an old typewriter in a case, I think the lock is the same - just to give you an idea of what the key look like.
This is my only key and it came with it when I bought it at a flea market, would have sent you one if I had one extra.



Edit: I have to use a lot of force with the key to get mine open, if this is the case with yours as well then aluminum from a soda can won't cut it. Should be easy to make one out of a bit of thin (1mm-1,5mm) steel sheet and an angle grinder. Just my two cents.
