DIY Bogota Keychain/SERE Sheath

Hey guy's, haven't posted in a while but I just came up with this today and had to share. It's a very handy way to keep a pair of Bogotas on either your keys, or in your clothes/shoes - especially since it's completely non-metallic:

Welcome back mate. I like your idea, but I'm worried it could slip out. Is friction enough to keep them inside the tube?

The trick is selecting the right straw. This one's made out of a cocktail stir straw, and it grips them very securely.

I like the carry method and it looks pretty slick. I wonder if something similar could be done with heat shrink tubing so that you could control (based on how much heat you apply) the diameter to get the right balance between securely holding the picks and still allowing them to pull out when needed.

I just wanted to point out - you said they were non-metallic. They are non-magnetic but they certainly are metallic. Do not try to go through airport security with these hidden in your shirt. Since they're not sharp, they won't arrest you for smuggling a knife on-board, but you will have to answer a lot of questions and probably lose the picks.

titanium shows on xray, but airports only ( at least the ones ive been to) xray baggage.

The full body scanners also would show the picks unless you understand how they work.

Right - I didn't want to get into too much detail but millimeter wave scanners will see it, unless you employ additional methods to hide the picks 'in plain sight'. You are better off just putting them in checked luggage.

Correct. This works because they are nonmagnetic but everything else that actually scans you(not just detects metal) will because the picks are denser than your body and regular clothes
