Tool Specials

Postby billdeserthills » 12 Apr 2014 12:56

If a mod can think of a reason to kill this thread then do so, otherwise since I have many, many accounts I get flyers from some of them every month. Here are some good deals I found this month:

[ADMIN EDIT: No more flyer posting please, if folks want to visit a site and establish an account and get pricing then that's fine - Squelchtone]

They have a website too, but they haven't posted this months specials yet at

Thanks bill. I have been looking for decently priced quality files to practice impressioning with. The one I have now are not too great.

How are their shipping costs? For orders less than $375, I mean.

i get all my keys from American Key Supply, they have stacks and stacks of key blanks, especially automotive blanks. They got 250 SC1 keys for 31.25. I've got no clue if that is supposed to be a good deal or not but, they are JMAs which in my opinion feel a lot nicer and cut more smoothly than ILCOs. They are also a locksmith exclusive dealer, which is always nice. They are big into auto decoder picks and transponders. The seem to have a sale on LISHI picks currently

I received my order from Northwest Lock & Supply today. I bought 2) #4 cut Round impressioning files and 2) #4 cut Warded files. I was charged a total of $12.50 for freight which seems fine for what I bought. The files are made in India but seem to be fine and while I have not used one yet it does feel sharp to my hands so I have no worries about their ability to cut a soft metal like brass.

I wonder how many of you are selling garage door remotes? It is a related business and I don't need to carry a bunch of inventory to make some decent bux doing it, either.
In my area most of the garage doors are Chamberlain, or Liftmaster (which is the same company) or Genie. To do the liftmaster doors ypou used to need 3 different remotes, or they have been making an "all in one" remote which will operate all the Liftmaster & Chamberlain plus it will work the Genie doors as well. This is really cool cause now I can just stuff 5 or 10 of this same remote in my vehicle and still have everything I need to sell.
Changing most garage door remotes is very easy the two I discussed above have been using "rolling code technology" for some time now which requires you to find the button under one of the light covers. pressing this button to add another remote will access the "Learn mode" if You want to change the codes entirely so none of the old transmitters work, press & hold the button for 10 seconds or until the flashing led stays dark.

These same companies above also make older dip switch operated garage door units too, and the new garage door remote can be programmed to work these as well. To change them you need to find the dip switch, which is usually behind a small 1 1/2 long door by 1/2 inch door somewhere on the opener usually under the light cover at the front or back. All you have to do is change a setting on a couple of switches both on the door opener & the transmitters and you are done.
When you think about it you will see that changing the garage door codes in the event a remote is stolen makes the same sense as rekeying the house does.

I like to use Multi-Sales when I restock on transmitters and they will allow you to establish "Open Account" terms, which allows you to have them ship your order today and allow you to pay the bill in 30 days. I like to always use my open accounts whenever I order Anything, and I have bunches of them, it is an odd hobby of mine and as a plus it is completely legal. Multi-Sales (800)736-4617 ask to be transferred to New Accounts.

BTW if giving out your social security # or bank account info over the phone bothers you, open account collecting is prolly not gonna become your "new legal hobby". I put a credit freeze on my credit years ago, now scamsters look elsewhere when they want to steal my identity/credit, cause like most other folks they want instant gratification & with a freeze on your credit, it's a 24 hr wait minimum.

alright everybody, as of right now, please no more direct quotes of prices for locksmith suppliers copy/pasted/typed-up-from-fliers on the forum..

It reads too much like advertizing for the aforementioned businesses. I see names, 1-800 numbers, web site links and fliers being typed up.. that's too much!

If anyone here has a good supplier, dandy, you can paste a URL link to them, we don't need 1-800 number, street address, hours of operation, owners name, or this weeks specials. If someone is interested they can go to the website and then ask about prices on whatever items they seek.

Or, if you have a good price on something and want to share here, please private message each other. The ownership of the forum is not here to provide free advertizing, and I doubt the vendors being listed want their locksmith pricing being out in the public either.

Any questions, please PM me, thank you for your understanding. If the rules change in the future, I will make an announcement at such time. To anyone who bitches we have too many rules (yes, surprisingly there are those on the internet who don't like the forum because we have rules), all I can say is we have them because of past incidents, and this is not a free-for-all, so please read and respect the rules.

Thank you,
Squelchtone
