Absolutely Massive PTK Padlock!!

Postby Marduk28 » 19 Apr 2014 10:29

Hey Guys,

I posted this on Keypicking, but wanted to share here too!

I recently found a truly gigantic padlock! The pictures I have don't do it justice, but this thing is really amazing. Here are some specs:

- It is about 100 mm across and 190 mm high!

-The keys looks to be around 100 mm long!

-Looks to have a 8 pin cylinder with massive pins!

-My guess is that it weighs between 4-5 pounds. (Although I have not officially weighed it).

-This was made as a promotional item for local Locksmiths many years ago. These were not sold to the public and are not available for purchase under normal circumstances. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get my hands on this!

This lock is fully functional and opens with an absolutely thunderous *CLINK* when the shackle flies open!

That is a beauty alright!

The key looks like it has seven pins, but you would need an oversized pick to reach them if the size of the key is any indication. Looks like it could be bypassed easily, but it still would be fun to put on your luggage and watch TSA expressions.

Thanks for the correction Gordon!

It's true that you could probably bypass this thing, but it does have one last line of defense. There is always a chance that whoever by-passes this lock accidentally drops it on their foot! That would definitely stop them!

It would take the whole soda can to make shims for that shackle .

Hi Squelchtone,

Unfortunately I have sold this lock and it's not available anymore.

If by some crazy chance I run across another one I will let you know!
