Rekeyed a customer's 2 Yale entry knobs today, no big deal, but afterwards he tells me they're not operating as before. They seem to to function to me: push button inside locks it, key outside unlocks it. The difference, he says, is that the key now spins (still unlocks it) but before the key would turn to a certain point, then begin turning the knob itself to open the door.
Unfortunately I didn't check functionality before I rekeyed them, and I'm not familiar enough with Yale locks to know if that is truly the way they operate. Anyone here have more insight on the way these things work?
