Has anyone bought an alibaba or aliexpress machine?

Postby knowspicker2 » 19 May 2014 16:47

As I've posted in a separate thread, I have an Ilco Mini-Mite 008, which I use to duplicate keys and to cut to code using depths keys. It has worked all right, but I find it somewhat tedious to use. I would like to upgrade to a more advanced dedicated key duplicator, but my budget is rather limited.

I keep an eye out for bargains on craigslist in hopes of picking up an old Ilco key duplicator, but they are either priced out of my range or they get snatched up very quickly. Thus, I am thinking of buying something off alibaba or aliexpress.

Has anyone purchased a machine off that site? I would be interested in hearing about your experiences with any particular brands and models, as well as any sellers. I would like to pick up a Bravo 2 or a Rytan RY200 at some point, but they seem just out of my reach right now.

Please fill in your profile location, other members here may have a machine for you. In fact, I have a gently used Ilco 027A for sale right now, my price to locksport friends or locksmiths is $185 (pretty firm on this, I have it on craigslist for $249), but shipping will be extra, maybe $25, based on size and weight. I'm in Massachusetts. No shipping to Canada at this time.

Thanks squelchtone. That Ilco 027A looks nearly brand new. Since I often cut multiple copies of a key, I was looking for a semi-automatic (or perhaps fully automatic) keying machine.

Alibaba and aliexpress seem to offer those types of machines at very low prices.

I'm in Los Angeles, CA, BTW.
