Best High Security lock and Five-lever mortice deadlock

Postby mework » 29 May 2014 4:59

Hi there

I'm new to all this lock stuff, but I want to buy the best secure locks for my home. Can someone please recommend the best locks (High Security lock AND Five-lever mortice deadlock) that is hard or not possible to picklock/bump etc.

I'm thinking of having 2 locks on my external door.

Many thanks and have a GREAT day

Take care

Chubb 3G115 is one of the best lever mortice deadlocks and I think right up your alley.
Union, Legge are other brands that also make good quality lever mortice deadlocks.

union 1332 on the top ( has a latch and double throw deadbolt can be locked from inside, make sure the four tabs on the barrel fixing plate are bent through 90 deg and hammered into the wood and screw it in too )
chubb 3g110 or 3g135 lower down ( harder to pick than a 115 and If you want to or decide later to get one key for both locks swap the 110/135 for a 3c10 to take a euro cylinder keyed alike with the rim cylinder
thats whats going on my new door i have seen 110 locks from the seventies still going in daily use same for the 1332.
this is assuming you want to spend that kind of money and you live in an area where these locks are available
When picking starts to hurt take your finger out
