Trying to remove sargent padlock core.

Postby 808Picka » 31 May 2014 2:33

Have a sargent padlock with no key, I picked open. I picked it to control, or thought I did. Core did not budge. Isn't control to the left (counter clockwise) and open is to the right (clockwise)? I know Best padlocks are to the right. Are sargents the same? Please clarify this for me. :?:

Cledry is correct. You may have only turned the plug to the left and not the retaining lug.

Are you sure it's an LFIC and not a fixed core with a screw under the shackle? They look pretty similar from the front.

LFIC will say Sargent on it above the keyway. Regular cylinder won't.

Indeed!
I still need a padlock for a 6300 LFIC for my collection.

Thank you for the great tip. Just what I needed.

I am very happy to be here. Only a couple of minutes and already found two very useful tips. Hooray!
