I have never seen a ball bearing wear out in a lock. Just get a box to put your lock and hands into for taking the lock apart, so when parts do fly, you can catch them in the box. Ace Hardware has a large supply of springs, if you have one near you, but I never needed new springs. I had a client bring in his 60+ BMW trunk lock today, he wanted it keyed to his ignition key, several of those wafer springs got "the stretch" I actually wound up using replacement wafer tumblers modified from my cam lock rekey wafer kit. The guy before him wanted a door lock for his 44 International pickup and he wanted it keyed to his new ignition keys. I had a pin kit for his lock & it got new springs & both locks work like new.
