I think Kodak was refering to oldlock's second job of the day. The domestic lockout, where the customer wouldn't let him drill.

If that's the case then I would say he was going for drilling the pins.

Who said a safe? One of the replies mentioned that his customer didn't want him to drill his door lock, so I was curious what that entailed. If I had to guess I'd say drill the pins out.

It was a cylinder so yes, would have involved just drilling the pins out. If it was a cheap and nasty cylinder and Oldlock offered to fit a new cylinder free of charge then the customer should have been grateful for a nice new cylinder! But hey, the customers always...

2 weekends ago I was home with some friends having a few drinks when I got a phone call from one of our other friends. He locked himself out of his house and asked if I could help him out.

Here's the situation:
4 males outside in 20 degree farenheit weather with win gusts at 40 miles an hour probably around midnight - drunk.

I fumbled around with the lock for 30 mins before I ended up picking it, albeit the wrong way. So with no plug spinner on hand I fashioned one with the rubber band trick and luckily it worked.

It was a crappy 5 pin wal-mart brand knock off door knob. Even though I got it open eventualy my ego was dealt a big serving of wholesome pie. At least I have excuses to cover my my mistakes.

When you say "drill" what do you mean?

I'm guessing your talking about drilling the pins of the shear line? Or do you put a hole in the lock and then reach in with a pick and bypass?

Yes, drilling the pins at the shear line.

Ack! My bad, went back and re-read it 3 times before I figured where the door came into it.
