Tutorial, how to make a bump key for dimple / radial locks

Postby titou26 » 5 Aug 2013 8:12

Hello, I made a video about making a bump key for radial cylinder. If you are interested I can try to translate it into English

Nice work titou. It's always a pleasure to see talented people work. Welcome to the forum.

Your video would definitely have a wider audience if it was translated into English.

Many thanks for sharing it, and I look forward to more.

Thank you for making the translated version, and nice work.

Without a closeup view of the key I can't be sure, but it appears to be what we call in English a "dimple lock" instead of "radial lock". Would you mind if I added that to the title of your post? It would make it easier for people to search for this topic with that in the title. I don't think it was an error on your part, it seems everyone just has different names for different locks around the world.

Titou26,

Your videos are very good at teaching. Showed the first video to a few locksmiths I visited today, and they first were surprised, then they laughed.

Good work, and thank you, Titou26

I have make a new tutorial video fto make a bump key for dimple lock.

The technique is even simpler. With a square file only.

The cylinder is an ABUS D6.

The video is not translated but it is easy to understand.

Very cool thank you for creating these videos!!

But im curious does anyone know if you can use the same dimple bumpkey for impressioning purposes?
Or does that need to be deeper or something?
