Master Pro Series 7040

So this may make a little weird but I have a Master 7040 that I had to take down and purchase a new cylinder for.. The locksmith assured me that the K6000 cylinder was the correct one for this lock .. But that is not what was in it originally .. Not every time I pick it up I dont feel right because I believe it not to be in its original configuration .. So, to ease my mind .. My question is as follows


Has the Master 7040 always been the K6000 key way.. There was no key for the original cylinder so with out going to the Locksmith .. I am guessing is a K81.. If this is the incorrect cylinder .. I would like to bring it back to its original configuration ..

As far as I can tell, those locks have always used the 6000 series cylinders.

that is what my research yielded also.. I was thinking the lock was re-keyed or something before.. But if anyone knows different by all means let me know

With the right actuator, you can use other keyway cylinders which may be what they did in your case.
