Oldest Lock

What is the oldest lock in your collection? I don't have any relics yet but would like to see what you have!

Probably my Star Scandinavian Jail Lock. This is an early one that had five steel discs, instead of the newer ones with five brass discs, or the newest ones with seven brass discs. Handmade a key for it. I'd have to check, but as I recall, the steel disc ones are from 126 to 175 years old.

Probably my Bramah box lock. The lock plate itself dates to between 1809-1813 but the inner parts of the lock were refurbished/replaced after 1819. I assume it was to rekey it or replace broken parts.

Re the Bramah lock.

1817 > 1874 would be more accurate (probably later from the way it's put together)

I understand why you would assume the date you have, (I've just seen the thread elsewhere) but the markings on small box locks did not change to reflect every change of address or name. Also the construction of the very early locks was quite different.
