5 pin padlock no security pins

Been trying to find a 5 pin padlock with no security pins. Been researching Masterlock no5. But read conflicting descriptions on different vendor websites.

I know the Masterlock m5 is a 4 pin lock. So trying to figure out if the masterlock no.5 is 4 or 5 pin?

Also does anyone have an suggestions on a 5 pin padlock with no security pins I can purchase. I've SPP my masterlock no.3 to death... So looking to advance slightly.

The master no5 is a 4 pin no different than a master no3.

Master lock does make some 5 pin padlocks that do not have security pins. You can go on their website and look at all the locks they sell. Depending on if you select indoor or outdoor and high or low value there are different results. They list the number of pins and if there are spools. As for other brands I am not sure off the top of my head. If you are up to five pins you may want to consider a key in knob cylinder or deadbolt as well.

Have not seen a Master No. 81 before. Interesting. Wonder how many Master No. (x) there are.

The current version of the Master M930 is 5-pin with no security pins, but if you do pick one up, be careful, as older models have spools. Every one I've bought off the shelf over the last couple years at a hardware store has been security pin-free.

The keyway is restrictive enough to keep it interesting. Disassembles by the same method as a lot of Americans, so rekeying is possible once you get bored with the pinning you' started with.

Thanks for the suggestions of a no.15 and no.81 masterlock. I've looked at masterlock's website. But wasn't able to find a 5 pin without spool pins.

I have a couple kwikset deadbolt cylinders at home. Also just got the 7 pin practice cylinder from MrWizard. So ill be practicing on those.

Just like the padlocks for when I'm bored at work. Need to head down to the hardware store now. Thanks for the help.

Ah, cool robotnik M930 looks like AmericanLock 7000 series. Since the keyway is restrictive, do you prefer top of keyway tension with this lock?

Don't recall ever seeing a Master laminated padlock with spools. Look at the keys - if you can count five cuts, you are golden.

By laminated padlocks. Are you referring to the masterlocks look like pieces of metal riveted together with a plastic wrap around logo on the bottom? Like the common no.3?
